The job, on the record.
Every RFI, submittal, drawing revision, daily log and lookahead sits on one record. The field writes to it from the floor it is standing on, the office reads the same line, and the version history keeps the date stamp and the author attached.

What's in the record
Everything the job runs on.
Six ways in, one record underneath. Nothing here is a copy of something else, so nothing has to be reconciled at the end of the month.
One record
One RFI, end to end.
Scroll and the record moves. Raised on the morning walk, routed to the architect of record, answered against the drawing, closed with the frame that started it — three point two days on a seven-day clock.

- OPEN14 MAR · 08:12
Raised on the 07:40 ground walk. The 360 frame and the marked-up sheet attach themselves on send — nobody walks back to the trailer to file it.
- IN REVIEW14 MAR · 15:40
Routed against S-412 Rev C. Two earlier RFIs on the same edge detail surface with their answers, so the question is asked once.
- ANSWERED16 MAR · 11:05
Detail confirmed, no revision required. The answer lands on the drawing, the daily log and the three-week lookahead in the same second.
- CLOSED17 MAR · 09:30
Closed against the frame that raised it. Three point two days, on a contract clock that allows seven.
Documentation
Documentation that writes itself.
The 06:05 ground walk and the 06:20 dock flight already know the weather, the crews on site, the trades working and the quantities placed. The log is drafted from them before the trailer opens.
Nothing is invented and nothing is assumed. Every field names the sensor it came from, so a signature is a review rather than a transcription. What the superintendent changes trains the draft for tomorrow.

“I stopped chasing paper. The log is drafted before I reach the trailer, and when the architect asks which revision we built to, the answer is on the record with a date on it.”
