Quay walls, yards and dredge volumes surveyed without stopping operations. Nine berths stay working, the yard is counted twice a day between vessel windows, and the dredge line is held at −16.5 m CD while the cranes keep moving.

Ninety minutes between two ships, and twenty-one of them used. The sortie comes in over the pocket and sounds it against the −16.5 m design line, runs the ship's side while a gantry takes a box off her deck, counts ten blocks of the yard, meets the next arrival under her tugs — then the record goes to the operator on the apron, under the crane, reading the fender, the rail and the bollard nobody would climb down to see.
The dredger claims 48,000 m³ off berth 4. Confirming it means a survey vessel in the box, which means the berth is closed, which means the ship goes to the next port.
Dredge volumes without standing a berth down
The dredger's soundings, the survey vessel's runs and the shore-side flights land on one surface. Difference it against the −16.5 m CD design line and the volume moved, the high spots left and the overdredge read off by berth.
A container yard is a stockpile that argues back. The stack plan says row 14 is clear, the reefer plugs say otherwise, and the shunt driver finds out at 03:00.
The yard, counted twice a day
Two flights a day return the yard as a surface and a count — stack heights by row, occupancy by block, and project-cargo laydown tied to the same map the terminal plan already sits on.
Under the deck of berth 6 there are 180 piles, a fender line and a service gallery. It gets inspected once something is already broken, by people who have to get down there to look.
Quay walls and fenders on the record
A ground unit runs the gallery and the deck underside on a saved route each quarter, returning 360 imagery at the same stations, so spalling and corrosion arrive as a trend line rather than a discovery.
Every instrument on this list flies, floats or walks inside a window the terminal already has. Nine berths stay in service the whole time; the record is what comes out of the gaps.

Yard flight
2×/day, in the gap between box moves
The yard and apron go from berth-clear to flown in 21 minutes of a 90-minute gap. Each flight returns a surface and a count — stack heights by row, occupancy by block, laydown on the terminal plan.
The dredger's soundings, the survey vessel's runs and the shore-side flights land on one surface of the basin, so the berth pocket is never argued from three different datasets.

Pocket differencing
After every sounding run, before the dredger moves
The basin surface is differenced against the −16.5 m CD design line: volume moved, high spots left and overdredge read off by berth. The high spot 0.4 m proud at berth 4 re-tasked the dredger, not the berth.

Q02
The dredger claims 48,000 m³ off berth 4. Who checks?
One surface does. The dredger's soundings, the survey runs and the shore flights are differenced against the −16.5 m CD design line — volume moved, high spots left and overdredge read off by berth, before the invoice.

Q03
Can the shift plan trust the stack heights?
The yard is counted twice a day as a surface — stack heights by row, occupancy across 22 blocks, project cargo on the same map the terminal plan sits on. The shunt driver stops finding out at 03:00.

Q04
Who goes under the deck of berth 6?
Nobody. The ground unit runs the gallery and the deck underside each quarter on a saved route, returning 360 imagery at the same stations — 180 piles and the fender line read as a trend, without a boat or a harness.
Berth clear at 03:20, yard and apron flown by 03:41, the sounding run over the pocket at 04:12 high water, and the high spot 0.4 m proud of design named by 05:50 — dredger re-tasked before the morning shift.

Q06
Whose datum is the whole basin on?
Chart datum, top to bottom: the STS boom at +30 m, the quay deck at +4.2 m, the current dredge line at −14.8 m and the design line at −16.5 m CD — one datum from the crane to the bed, so no level is ever converted twice.

Who reads it
Read overnight on a terminal like this one: two yard flights, the high-water sounding run, the dredger's claim and the berth plan. Three of the 27 profiles wake up to it.
The pocket at berth 4 carries a high spot 0.4 m proud of CD −16.5 m — the dredger is re-tasked to it this morning and the berth stays on the sailing schedule; the rest of the box proved clear at 04:12.

The dredger's 48,000 m³ claim reads against the design line before it is paid — volume moved and overdredge split out by berth, off the same surface the terminal already trusts.

HAZARD
Nobody is under the deck of berth 6 this quarter — the ground unit ran the gallery on the saved route, and the 180 piles read as a corrosion trend at the same stations as last time, not a discovery.
Send us a berth layout and a sailing schedule — we will fit one capture into a gap the terminal already has and hand you the yard count and the pocket against CD −16.5 m.
