Platform · Evidence
The record is evidence.
Every number in the record keeps its source, its date and its ±, and the record is written as the work happens rather than assembled afterwards from memory — so when a valuation, a variation or a tribunal asks what the site looked like on a Tuesday last March, the answer already exists, and it holds up when somebody who was not there reads it.

What makes a record evidence
Four things, true on the day it is made.
Not a policy, not a badge, not a posture adopted once a dispute starts. Four properties the record has on the ordinary day it is made — because everything that reads it later, a valuation, a variation, an insurance claim, a hearing, asks for exactly these.
- 01
Made at the time
- In practice
- The record is written as the site is captured — not typed up on Friday from Tuesday's memory.
- Property
- Every entry carries the date the work was in that condition, not the date it was filed.
- Consequence
- Contemporaneous records are the kind that survive cross-examination. Yours are made that way without anyone remembering to.
- 02
Fixed once
- In practice
- What was recorded is not restated later. A correction is added and dated beside the original; the original stays where it was.
- Property
- There is one past, and it is the one that was recorded.
- Consequence
- Nobody has to take anyone's word for what the file said last March, including us.
- 03
Checkable by anyone
- In practice
- Your auditor, your client's expert or a tribunal's own appointee can confirm the record in front of them is the record that was made.
- Property
- The proof travels with the evidence rather than sitting behind our login.
- Consequence
- The record does not rest on our reputation. That is the whole point of holding one.
- 04
Readable years later
- In practice
- Every figure keeps its value, its unit, its ±, the method and the epoch it came from, in plain words.
- Property
- A number found in 2036 still says what it means.
- Consequence
- The record outlives the project, the contract and the people who made it.
The inspectable frame
Open any frame. It already knows where it stood.
A picture of a site proves nothing on its own. Every frame in the record arrives with its own account — where the operator stood, which way they were looking, what they were looking at, how fine the detail is, and when. Pick a frame group below and read it.
Each tile is the stance the record kept — where the operator stood, which way they faced, how much of the pier that covers. South-west corner, full height, 41 frames, detail down to 1.32 mm on the face from 4.5 m.

Group 1 of 8. None of it was typed afterwards, and none of it can be restated later — which is the difference between a frame that proves something and a photograph somebody kept.
Two dates on every answer
What was true, and what we knew.
A record that can only tell you what it believes today is useless in a dispute about last March. This one holds both dates: when the ground was that way, and when the record came to know it. A correction adds a row; it never replaces one. Pick any pair of dates below and read the answer the record would have given.
| Ground as at | As at 15 Mar | As at 24 Mar | As at 04 Apr |
|---|---|---|---|
| E-09 · 14 MarFirst measure of the pour | |||
| E-10 · 21 MarSecond lift complete | |||
| E-11 · 28 MarPier cap struck |
The answer, and both of its dates
Ground as at 14 Mar (E-09), asked on 24 Mar: 398.6 m³ ±1.8%.
Revised. CP-04 re-adjusted 24 Mar; epoch 09 re-registered against the corrected network. The 412.0 m³ answer is not deleted — it is what the record would have told you on 15 Mar, and it is still readable.
Every number carries six things
Value, unit, uncertainty, method, epoch and source. An estimate is never allowed to stand in for a measurement, and the record will not add the two together.
VALUE · UNIT · ± · METHOD · EPOCH · SOURCECorrections are added, not applied
Nothing is edited in place. A correction, a re-measure or an entry an agent drafted is added, dated and marked as what it is — which is why last year's answer can still be recovered.
APPENDED · DATED · ATTRIBUTEDControl is versioned like a drawing
Grids and control marks carry versions the way drawings do. Re-levelling a site is an event with a date on it, not a silent change to what the past said.
CONTROL · VERSIONED · DATEDChecking the record does not mean trusting us.
Ask what the site looked like on any date; the answer arrives with its source.
Nothing in the record can be altered quietly — a change to the past is itself an entry.
Whoever holds the record can confirm it is the record that was made.
AUDITOR · READS IT WITHOUT USContradiction detection
When the paperwork and the ground disagree.
The record holds both accounts of the same site — what the documents say, and what the ground measured, each with its date and its ±. Read against each other, a disagreement stops being an argument and becomes arithmetic: a difference in units, with both sources named, the error budget beside it and the evidence attached. You hear about it the same week it appears, not at handover.

- SOURCE · ELEVATION SCAN · EPOCH 12 · ±2 PP
One measured account of the site, read against every claim made on it.
A reading is a citation, never an accusation — the Δ is stated in its own units, the error budget beside it, and a dismissal is recorded too.
Both sources are named on every reading: the document as filed, and the measurement with its date and its ±.
The same reading works on a pay application, a daily log, an RFI closure and a condition grade — anywhere the record holds both halves.
CITATION · Δ · BUDGET · EVIDENCEWhen it gets read
Nobody opens a record on a good day.
The capture is made on an ordinary Tuesday. It is read years later, by people who were not there, in rooms where the question is what actually happened.
- A variation is disputed
The condition of the works on the day the instruction was issued, and on the day it was said to be complete — both dated, both measured, both still re-measurable.
EPOCH PAIR · ± STATED- A claim is made on the policy
The last epoch before the event, differenced against the first epoch after it, with the interval on the difference.
PRE-LOSS EPOCH · POST-EVENT EPOCH- Retention is due for release
The handover epoch and the release epoch, the same stations, the same method, and every defect measured across both.
HANDOVER EPOCH · RELEASE EPOCH- A lender or an independent engineer certifies progress
Measured quantities with their method and uncertainty, tied to the epoch that produced them — not a percentage typed into a template.
QUANTITY · METHOD · UNCERTAINTY · EPOCH- A statutory submission falls due
The capture the regime asks for, already on the record and already dated — because the programme that satisfies the regulator is the programme the site runs anyway.
REGIME · SCHEDULED CAPTURE · ON RECORD- A tribunal asks what was known, and when
Both dates on every answer: when the ground was that way, and when the record came to know it.
WHAT WAS TRUE × WHEN WE KNEW
Questions of record
Asked plainly, answered flat.
Including the one about certificates, which we do not hold.
- 01What is contradiction detection in construction?
- It is what happens when two independent accounts of the same site are compared and they disagree. The record holds both — the paperwork as filed and the ground as measured — so the difference is stated in units the same week, with its error budget and its evidence, while it is still cheap to answer.
- 02What do I do when the paperwork and the site disagree?
- You are told, with both accounts side by side, the Δ stated and the sources named. What to do about it stays your decision — and a dismissal is recorded too.
- 03What evidence stands up in construction arbitration?
- A dated, measured account of the site where every number keeps its source. It is built to survive cross-examination rather than to win an argument, which is why it is written before anyone knows there will be one.
- 04What does evidence-grade mean?
- That every number carries its source, its date and its ±, so it holds up when somebody who was not there reads it years later.
- 05What are contemporaneous records?
- Records made at the time the work happened rather than written up afterwards. They are the only kind that survives cross-examination, so the record is written as the site moves.
- 06What is a persistent site record?
- One record per site that keeps growing for thirty years instead of resetting at each phase, each contract and each vendor change.
- 07Can we check it without you?
- Yes, and that is the point. Whoever holds the record can confirm it is the one that was made, with nothing to ask us and nothing to take on trust. If we vanished tomorrow the answer would not change.
- 08Is any of this certified?
- No. We hold no third-party attestations today and we do not print badges we have not earned. What is stated on this page is what the record does, and what it does can be checked.
The world's first evidence-grade site record.
